Patron - Trelise Cooper
Trelise Cooper has been associated with The Breast Cancer Research Trust since 2004 when she accepted her first invitation to design a t-shirt for The Breast Cancer Research Trust, as part of what has become a major annual fundraiser for the Trust. Trelise's involvement - both personal and professional - quickly escalated as she became increasingly aware of the enormity of the breast cancer problem in New Zealand and the devastating impact breast cancer has on women throughout this country, and their families.
Trelise was appointed Patron in early 2007 in honour of her commitment to the Trust over the years, but particularly due to her personal determination to raise the consciousness of the wider New Zealand community about the accelerating need to find a cure for breast cancer - with radical results for a new, breast cancer-free future for all of us.
"I feel so incredibly honoured to be Patron for The Breast Cancer Research Trust. Breast cancer is an extremely serious issue with the lives of hundreds of our New Zealand women being needlessly lost every year. We have no time to lose and it is essential that business, the media and the wider community really get in behind the Trust and the crucial role of its leading edge research work to find a cure. New Zealand is extremely fortunate to have an organisation like the Trust and the expertise behind it already up and running and, as Patron, I have committed to doing everything possible to raise awareness of the Trust's profile and move all of us as fast as possible towards the goal of a breast cancer-free future".
